Port House in Antwerp

With our dealer Forum Office, Palmberg and interior architect Kurt Van Overbeke, we have successfully furnished the new Port House in Antwerp (the head office of the Antwerp Port Authority). The Port House was designed by architect Zaha Hadid. The Port House consists of the restored former fire station and above that a completely new building in the shape of a diamond.

Activity based office

The assignment was to design an activity-based office where employees choose their workplace in the function of the activities they perform. The furniture had to serve the new work for which the Port Authority specifically opted.

Library table in the documentation centre

One of the most striking Lande creations is the ‘reading boat' in the reading room of the documentation centre. This reading table with integrated booths was specially designed for the Port House in the form of a small boat. The top layer of the table is made from nano-HPL which is smudge-proof and feels silky soft. Moreover, it is the best solution in terms of hygiene.

Custom-made Dock table

We made and placed various jetty tables for short meetings or collaboration. This custom-made table was inspired by a mooring jetty. The top has a black nano-HPL top layer which is smudge-proof and feels silky soft (soft touch). The designed black lamps with motion sensor and Beso chairs from the Artifort collection complete the whole.

Lockers

In each department of the 9 floors there are custom lockers that look cheerful caused by a game of glossy and matt materials. ‘Corners' have been created behind some of the lockers where, for example, a brainstorm session can be held.

Acoustic furniture for quiet meetings

To facilitate all the different types of collaboration associated with the new way of working, a Turning Talks or Dots Up with Dots Curve have been placed in each department. The Turning Talks is a great collaboration sofa that can be rotated, and thanks to of the favourable acoustic effect are other colleagues in the room are able to work without noise nuisance. The Dots Up break-out areas are also designed in such a way that the volume of the conversation is muted by an acoustic panel.

The snake-shaped Buggy Step table

The restaurant has a tailor-made, snake-shaped Buggy Step table. Just to eat something, but also in a group, very dynamic.
